Three firefighting helicopters have crashed in Portugal over the last three weeks, killing two pilots
The first incident occurred on 20 August, in which the pilot died; the second happened on 4 September, in which the pilot suffered minor injuries after the helicopter he was flying crashed just after taking off from an airfield at Pampilhosa da Serra.
The third accident occurred on 5 September, in which the aircraft is said to have crashed after hitting power lines and the pilot was killed. A report from Safe Communities Portugal stated that the helicopter involved in the accident was an AS350 Ecureuil operated by Everjets.
