First Entrol AW109 simulator to open in Nigeria
Will improve the range of training devices available at Caverton Aviation Training Center
Global Aviation Training & Maintenance (GATML) has purchased an Entrol AW109 FNPT II MCC simulator, to be installed, operated and maintained at the Caverton Aviation Training Center (CATC) in Lagos, Nigeria. The CATC already operates an EASA certified Level D AW139 Full Flight Simulator.
It will be the fourth Entrol simulator in Africa – and the first in Nigeria.
The AW109 is equipped with a Spherical Visual system, four-axis electromagnetic vibration system and Entrol Mission Package, which includes hoist control for search and rescue (SAR) missions and an external mirror, among other equipment.
This new simulator at CATC will improve its range of training devices, while reducing operational costs and increasing the safety of the clients’ pilots.
Lolade Abiola, Accountable Manager at CATC, said: “We are excited to introduce this Entrol AW109 FNPT II to our growing number of training devices in Nigeria and West Africa as a whole. The advent of Covid-19 opened our eyes to the fact that there is a huge void in training establishments and particularly access to training simulators. The need for affordable and accessible training is long overdue in West Africa and we are delighted to work with Entrol in making this a reality.
“The stress and bureaucracy of getting visas, booking hotels and the increasing cost of flight tickets can now easily be avoided, saving operators time and reducing capital flight.”
Entrol has recently also provided a simulator to Alpha Aviation in Japan.
