REMSA Care Flight

Aircraft was carrying five crew and crashed near the city of Stagecoach in Western Nevada on 25 February

The Pilatus PC-12 was operated by the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA Health) as part of its Care Flight program.

It was carrying a pilot, a flight nurse, a flight paramedic, a patient, and a member of the patient’s family when it went down. All five people onboard were killed.

The Lyon County Dispatch Center began receiving calls of a possible aircraft crash at around 21:15 hrs local time (05:15 hrs GMT). The aircraft was found at around 23:15 hrs, according to Lyon County Sheriff’s Department.

An investigation is being undertaken to determine the cause of the crash, led by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), in coordination with the Central Lyon Fire Department. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will also provide assistance during the investigation.

An aerial firefighting helicopter owned by Helicópteros del Pacífico crashed near the town of Galvarino, Chile, earlier this month.
