FIXAR unveils new 025 autonomous aircraft
Latvian drone developer FIXAR has unveiled its Fixar 025 autonomous, electric unmanned aircraft, which it says can carry up to 10kg within a 300km range on one battery charge
Pre-orders for the aircraft, which is designed for use in large-scale commercial and industrial applications, have now been opened, with FIXAR stating that serial production of the aircraft is expected to begin by the end of this year.
FIXAR says the 025 is equipped with a ‘next-generation Autopilot and xGroundControl systems’, which enable aircraft operators to build and edit a fixed-wing VTOL drone flight mission and monitor missions in real-time using 3D visualization mode, and manage up to 10 aircraft simultaneously.
The aircraft also has a ‘payload safety system and a ‘data back-up BlackBox system for mission and payload data safety’, and is reportedly designed to support integration with artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and unmanned air traffic ecosystems, as well as third party sensors.
In addition, the aircraft can be equipped with a ‘broad array of professional payload modules’ which can be ‘easily’ swapped, enabling the same aircraft to perform a range of roles including ‘surveying, aerial imaging, remote sensing, surveillance, real-time monitoring and deliveries’.
“The system comes with an API compatible with any unmanned air traffic management ecosystem regardless of the country of operations. This allows to easily comply to the air traffic authority rules, fulfil safety requirements and start missions at any location in no time,” said Vasily Lukashov, founder & CEO of FIXAR.
