Four more AW139s for LifeFlight and StarFlight
Leonardo has announced an order for four more AW139 helicopters from LifeFlight Australia and its joint venture subsidiary StarFlight
The new AW139s will be used to carry out emergency medical services (EMS), law enforcement, oil and gas support, and search and rescue (SAR) missions in Australia.
Deliveries of the new aircraft are expected to be completed in 2027.
StarFlight is a subsidiary of LifeFlight and Fox Group Holdings that specializes in a range of special missions aviation operations.
“Our clients across Australia have come to rely on our helicopter fleet for its robustness, capability and reliability,” said Ashley van de Velde, CEO of LifeFlight and StarFlight. “These aircraft provide increased speed range and operational capability, which is essential for the vast distances covered and challenging regional terrain we service in Australia.”
