GA-ATS adds TrakkaCam TC-375 to Do228 NXT mission options

The Do228 NXT gains day/night multispectral imaging from TrakkaCam for surveillance, SAR, and civil protection missions

General Atomics AeroTec Systems (GA-ATS) has partnered with Swedish mission-equipment specialist Trakka Systems to offer the TrakkaCam TC-375 imaging system as an integrated option for the Do228 NXT multipurpose aircraft.

The agreement expands the sensor and mission equipment options available for the next-generation Dornier 228, which completed its first flight and was presented publicly in June 2026.

The TC-375 is a gyro-stabilized, multispectral camera system designed for surveillance and reconnaissance missions. It provides full HD imagery during day and night operations, with high-resolution still images and video available in real time to support detection, identification, and decision-making.

The system is intended for missions including law enforcement; search and rescue (SAR); civil protection; military intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR); and environmental monitoring.

“The TrakkaCam TC-375 is a perfect fit for the Do228 NXT and its wide range of mission areas,” said GA-ATS. “It captures high-resolution images and video to support rapid decision-making during the mission.”

For operators configuring the Do228 NXT for special missions, the partnership adds a further electro-optical and imaging capability to an aircraft platform designed for multi-role use. The integrated camera option is also aimed at operations requiring persistent observation across varying environmental and lighting conditions.

The Do228 NXT is being developed by GA-ATS in Germany as the latest iteration of the Dornier 228, a platform used internationally for maritime surveillance, environmental monitoring, transport, and other special missions.
