Germany orders 38 new H225s
The German government has signed a contract for up to 44 aircraft, on behalf of its Federal Police (Bundespolizei)
Germany’s Ministry of the Interior has placed an order for 38 H225 helicopters for use by the Bundespolizei, with deliveries due to begin in 2029.
The contract also includes options for a further six aircraft of the same type, as well as training and spare parts.
The H225s will replace older H155 and AS332 helicopters that have been in service with the Bundespolizei for over two decades.
The H225s have a range of 832km in default configuration, or 1,107km with external fuel tanks, and can carry an external payload of 4,750kg.
The aircraft also feature an improved gearbox, mission and communication system, and health and usage monitoring system (HUMS) compared with those they are replacing.

The Australian state of Queensland recently announced plans to acquire a new police helicopter of its own.
