GMR orders three more Bell helicopters
Emergency aviation provider Global Medical Response (GMR) has lined up three from the 407GXi range
The helicopters, in HEMS configuration, will be delivered by Bell Textron by the end of 2023, joining GMR’s existing fleet of 220 Bell air ambulances currently in service across North America.
“As we grow our fleet to better serve our communities, these Bell 407GXi aircraft will better enable our emergency medical responders to reach those who need care at a moment’s notice,” said Ted Van Horne, GMR Chief Operating Officer.
The Bell 407GXi is equipped with a Rolls-Royce 250-C47E/4 engine, with full authority digital electronic controls (FADEC). It has a top cruise speed of 246km/h, with a maximum range of 624km and endurance of four hours. The cockpit is fitted with a Garmin G1000H NXi integrated flight deck.
GMR is one of the world’s largest emergency aviation service providers – it employs around 39,000 people and transported over 125,000 patients in 2021. Its brands include American Medical Response, Rural Metro Fire, Air Evac Lifeteam, REACH Air Medical Services, Med-Trans Corporation, AirMed International and Guardian Flight.
Fellow air medical provider CareFlite also ordered a Bell 407GXi in June 2022.
