GPMS and Precision deliver AS332 HUMS to Nomad Aviation

Nomad Aviation provides heavy-lift helicopter capabilities throughout Southeast Asia, with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia

In partnership with Precision Support Services, GPMS International has announced the delivery of Foresight MX health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS) to Nomad Aviation for their two AS332 Super Pumas.

Nomad Aviation has provided heavy-lift helicopter capabilities throughout Southeast Asia for over two decades, with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Its range includes firefighting, construction projects, and other utility missions.

John Forsyth, one of Nomad Aviation’s Co-Founders, said: “The intense humidity, coastal conditions, and remote areas we operate in take a toll on the aircraft and our engineers. Like other AS332 operators, we removed the original HUMS on our aircraft many years ago due to weight, cost and obsolescence issues. When we heard that GPMS was working with Precision to install HUMS on all their AS332s, we were immediately interested in learning more.”

Garry Mahoney, also a Co-Founder of Nomad Aviation, added: “We went out to witness first-hand GPMS’s development of the supplemental type certificate (STC) and just how powerful and easy Foresight MX is to use. Precision’s an expert on the AS332 platform and worked closely with GPMS to simplify the system to reduce the weight, cost, and installation time as much as possible. It was very impressive to see the collaboration and the results they produced.”

David Rath, Group CEO of the Precision family of companies, said: “We’re very proud to have supported the US Forest Service with our HUMS-equipped AS332s this summer. The STC process is always challenging, but the capabilities that Foresight provides has been appreciated by the entire team. We look forward to working with GPMS to expand Foresight’s capabilities, supporting Nomad’s installations, and assisting other AS332 installations around the world.”

Earlier this year Airbus Helicopters selected GPMS to expand its HUMS offerings.
