GPMS wins DGCA approval for Foresight MX HUMS on Bell 429 in India
GPMS International has secured DGCA validation of the FAA STC for its Foresight MX HUMS on the Bell 429 in India, enabling operators to adopt predictive maintenance technology across the fleet
GPMS International has announced that India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has validated the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) for installation of Foresight MX HUMS on the Bell 429 helicopter.
The approval enables India’s growing Bell 429 fleet to adopt predictive health and usage monitoring system (HUMS) technology, offering real-time aircraft health monitoring, exceedance tracking, automated rotor track and balance, and predictive maintenance insights to reduce downtime and improve availability.
Several operators have already ordered the system and are preparing for installation following the DGCA validation.
“There are currently 12 Bell 429s operating in India, and we believe this is just the beginning,” said Ronnie Ries, Chief Revenue Officer at GPMS International.
“Operators are increasingly recognizing that HUMS is no longer just a safety enhancement. It’s becoming an operational and financial necessity. We expect strong adoption across the Indian Bell 429 fleet, which we believe will ultimately expand into additional aircraft models and operators throughout the region.”
Foresight MX wirelessly transmits aircraft data after each flight, providing maintainers and operators with immediate access to actionable insights through a secure browser-based platform. The system supports a shift from reactive maintenance to a more predictive and proactive maintenance model.
The DGCA validation further strengthens GPMS’s international footprint as operators continue adopting HUMS technology to enhance safety, increase aircraft availability, and reduce direct operating costs.
GPMS and Vertical Aviation International (VAI) recently announced a strategic partnership to provide VAI members with access to advanced HUMS technology.
