H145 Rescue Hoist Trainer receives accreditation in Germany
The trainer has been granted EC type approval by TÜV SÜD
The hoist trainer will be used at the Center for Security and Training of the Bavarian Mountain Rescue, run in Bad Toelz, Germany, by Stiftung Bergwacht (Mountain Rescue Foundation).
After extensive examination, TÜV SÜD granted both the foundation and AMST, the manufacturer, the much-anticipated approval. Since the approval, Stiftung Bergwacht has already embarked on internal training with the airframe.
According to AMST, the H145 is the most popular choice of helicopter for alpine mountain rescue. The integration of the H145 hoist trainer is therefore a substantial improvement in preparing rescue teams for real-world scenarios.
In view of the dangers associated with hoist operations, accreditation ensures that the helicopter hoist operations are conducted as safely and efficiently as possible. Amy Arndt, Program Director at National Accreditation Alliance of Medical Transport Applications (NAAMTA), recently discussed the importance and benefits of accreditation.
