Entrol simulator

The simulator will allow the academy to expand its range of courses to include MCC

The UK’s Helicentre Aviation Academy has signed a purchase order with flight simulator manufacturer Entrol for the supply of an H19 / AW109 SP FNPT II MCC simulator.

The simulator is expected to offer a smoother transition to hands-on aircraft operation, as well as providing opportunities for the academy to offer additional courses in subjects such as Multi Crew Coordination (MCC).

The simulator has been customised with additional features including a vibration system, instructor debriefing station, cylindrical visual system with an extended vertical field of view, and remote control functionality.

The simulator is the first to be installed and certified by Entrol since its entry into the UK market. Entrol also sold its first simulator in Brazil to Safety Flight in February 2021.

It follows the purchase of a Leonardo AW 109 simulator by Helicentre Aviation in early 2021, alongside the acquisition of Civil Aviation Authority approval for the Multi-Engine Instrument Rating alongside the purchase of its first Leonardo AW109.

“We are committed to investing in innovation and technology so we can continue to offer the best and most up to date simulation experience to our trainee helicopter pilots” said Sarah Bowen, Helicentre Aviation's Head of Training and Director of Business Development.
