It occurred on Sunday 25 September 2022 during a night mission, near Khost in the Harnai district. In a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military confirmed that all six personnel, including 39-year-old Major Khurram Shahzad and 30-year-old Major Muhammad Muneeb Afzal (both pilots), were killed.
