Helisul Ecocopter

Brazilian helicopter operator Helisul Aviação has acquired Chilean competitor Ecocopter

The takeover will give Helisul a combined fleet of 81 fixed-wing and rotary aircraft – combining Helisul’s current fleet of 58 with Ecocopter’s 23.

Both Helisul and Ecocopter have experience working in a range of special missions aviation roles, including the provision of aerial firefighting support and air medical transfers.

The acquisition is currently subject to approval from both stakeholders, and the relevant government authorities.

Humberto Biesuz, CEO of Helisul, stated that his company’s takeover of Ecocopter would support “safe and rapid growth” and “lead to expansion throughout the Latin American continent, initiating a multinational operation model unique in the sector.”

Helisul also recently announced that it would equip its fleet with Daedalean’s visual traffic awareness system.
