Hikers rescued from Los Padres National Forest

Santa Barbara County Sherriff’s Helicopters alongside County Fire and Search and Rescue, based in Santa Barbara, US, used its night vision capabilities to locate five lost hikers in the Los Padres National Forest.
At around 23:00 hrs on 11 August, Santa Barbara County Firefighters were informed of a medical emergency in the National Forest. When a crew arrived at Miranda Pine Campground near Cuyama, they were informed that five hikers were missing.
A Sherriff’s helicopter was immediately dispatched to find the missing hikers. Two were found using the helicopters night vision capability. One of the hikers was suffering from dehydration, and both were taken to Cottage Hospital immediately after being found. The remaining three hikers were found at 07:00 hrs the next day by a ground SAR team.
