Midland's Air Ambulance

UK-based Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has started 2022 on a high, announcing it is the recipient of a humanitarian grant worth close to £7,500

The International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) Foundation, based in Chicago, USA, was founded in 1994 to support individuals and institutions that promote the advancement of commercial aviation and humanitarianism. The Foundation's Humanitarian Committee has donated US$10,000, which equates to GB£7,500, to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity from its 2021 ISTAT Foundation Humanitarian Aid Grant following its application for funding last year.

Richie Wall, ISTAT Foundation Humanitarian Committee Chair, said: "The Humanitarian Committee and the ISTAT Foundation are truly delighted to welcome Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as a first-time recipient of our annual grants. We hope that this is the beginning of a partnership and one that can deliver for the charity and the communities it serves. Keep up the good work!"

The grant will help to save lives via air medical missions

Debbie Briden, Grants and Trusts Manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, added: “Saving lives via aviation is at the heart of what we do and this grant, for which we are so grateful, will contribute to the funding of vital lifesaving missions this year."

Organizations registered as a charitable, non-governmental entity focusing on aviation-related humanitarian prevention, relief and/or recovery efforts are eligible to apply for an ISTAT Foundation Humanitarian Grant for natural disasters (drought, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions), human-generated disasters (conflict, social, industrial/transport accidents) and health-related crises. Last year the ISTAT Foundation granted US$100,000 to 13 organizations in support of their humanitarian efforts across the globe.

Meanwhile, to help futureproof the advanced pre-hospital service operated by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, the organization is developing a purpose-built air base and charity headquarters expected to be finished by the end of the year.
