Indra Sistemas will develop a H225M helicopter full mission simulator (FMS) for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF)

The Spanish technology firm was contracted by the Singaporean Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) following a competitive tender among a number of international simulation companies.

The contract includes the development and production of the FMS, post-delivery support, technical assistance, and options for future expansion.

The H225M simulator will conform to European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Level D standards, and will offer a range of training types. This includes both normal and emergency helicopter procedures, with a “special emphasis” on mission types such as “search and rescue (SAR), aeromedical evacuation, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief”.

The simulator will be capable of replicating both “realistic operational scenarios and complex maneuvers … day and night operations, [and] all possible challenging environmental conditions”.

The FMS will also feature a range of advanced training analytics using biometric sensors, designed to help instructors to evaluate pilots more effectively.

REISER Simulation and Training recently secured a Level D qualification for its new Airbus H145 D3 full flight simulator.
