Kalispell, Montana, acquires new drone
Kalispell Fire Department, in the US state of Montana, has announced that it is ready to deploy a new emergency response drone
The drone cost approximately $30,000, and was purchased through a US federal Homeland Security Grant.
The fire department was ‘one of six hazardous material response agencies statewide’ to receive the grant and related training as part of the grant program, according to a report by local newspaper Daily Inter Lake.
The drone will assist in a range of emergency situations, and can fly for approximately 45 minutes on a single charge.
The fire department of Auburn, California, also recently acquired its own drone – a DJI Matrice 30T.
