The rotorcraft is the second of its type to be operated by the company, which is based in Squamish, British Columbia

Kaman Corp has announced the delivery of a new medium-to-heavy-lift K-MAX helicopter to Canadian operator Black Tusk Helicopter.

The rotorcraft, which is capable of lifting up to 2,722kg, is the second of its type to be acquired by Black Tusk, a company that specializes in a range of external lift projects, including aerial firefighting and timber harvesting.

Black Tusk stated that adding the second K-MAX to its fleet was an “important step towards ensuring we can continue offering our customers the most appropriate and efficient aircraft for their requirements and particular job needs”.

The delivery follows the announcement last year that Kaman would be discontinuing the K-MAX due to low demand for the aircraft.

Kaman announced that it was being taken over by private equity firm Arcline Investment Management in January of this year.
