LAA adds to ground ambulance fleet

UK air ambulance charity London's Air Ambulance (LAA) has announced that it has renewed its deal with car manufacturer Skoda to supply the service with ground support.
The deal will see LAA receive five new vehicles to add to its fleet, including three Octavia vRS estates and two Kodiaq 4x4s to the fleet. The vehicles will be based at The Royal London Hospital and act as service response vehicles during the night or in adverse weather conditions.
“While the helicopter can reach patients in a matter of minutes, our fleet of rapid response cars is also critical to serve the community and ensure that we are ready to respond instantly in all-weather conditions,” said Paul Smith, Driving Standards Manager at London’s Air Ambulance. “The reliability and performance of Skoda continues to meet the demand of our service and we are pleased to renew the contract once again.”
The vehicles are available on a three-year lease to the charity from Skoda, as part of an extension of a relationship that stretches back 12 years.
“London’s Air Ambulance service places heavy demand on its vehicles and it’s fantastic to see that they continue to perform excellently under pressure,” added Henry Williams, Head of Fleet at Skoda UK.
