Leonardo appoints new South American distributor
Aerospace manufacturer Leonardo has announced Gruppo Modena as its new official distributor for Argentina and Uruguay
Gruppo Modena will be an official distributor in the civilian markets in both countries, selling a range of helicopters including the AW109 legacy, AW119Kx, AW139, and AW169. The distributor also signed a contract for two AW119Kx helicopters at the same event.
The contract between Leonardo and Gruppo Modena was confirmed at the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (LABACE 2023) – which was held in São Paulo, Brazil, from 8–10 August.
In a statement, Leonardo commended its new partner as ‘a major player in Latin America for helicopter services, [and] an established operator of AW109 and AW139 helicopters for a range of roles including passenger transport, offshore transport, and rescue’.
Leonardo also appointed Helitech Asia as its distributor for the AW09 helicopter in southeast Asia earlier this year.
