Leonardo opens MRO facility in Paris

Aircraft manufacturer Leonardo has announced the opening of a new helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) center at Paris Le Bourget Airport
The service center, which began operations in mid-April, will be used to support the growing number of Leonardo helicopters in use across France and Central Europe.
Leonardo says the site has maintenance facilities capable of work on AW109, AW139 and AW 169 aircraft, with plans to add compatibility with AW189 helicopters in future. The center encompasses over 2,000m2 of indoor space, including a hangar and offices.
The service center will specialize in providing support for VIP and civilian helicopters and is intended to provide stronger maintenance support in the region.
The center is one of over 90 operated by Leonardo in 40 countries worldwide, and is part of the company’s plans to improve the availability, sustainability and quality of services to operators as part of its Be Tomorrow 2030 Strategic Plan.
It follows rival manufacturer Airbus Helicopter announcing the opening of its own MRO center in Paris in January, at Tremblay-en-France near Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
