LifeNet of the Heartland celebrates 10 years in North Platte
LifeNet of the Heartland, an air ambulance provider based in Nebraska, is celebrating 10 years of operations from its base in the city of North Platte
The operator, a subsidiary of Air Methods, marked the occasion with a celebratory event on 14 September where the community could meet crew members.
LifeNet of the Heartland provides a range of critical care to residents of North Platte and the surrounding rural communities, responding to cardiac, trauma, high-risk obstetrics, and pediatric medical incidents.
“We don’t have the services, the type of medical doctors or surgeons [in North Platte] like bigger cities have,” said Austin Lambing, Area Manager for Air Methods. “Without LifeNet, it would take those patients three or four hours to get to care. When transporting by air, we can get them to that crucial care in a fraction of the time.”
“While it’s easy to talk about what we provide, we would not be here today without the support of the community,” said Flight Nurse Keah Cross. “We are proud that North Platte and the surrounding communities trust us to provide critical care in their time of need.”
The North Platte base is one of a number operated by LifeNet of the Heartland across Nebraska, with others in Norfolk, Columbus, Crete, Kearney, as well as its headquarters in the city of Omaha.
Parent company Air Methods emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy following a successful restructuring earlier this year.
