LifePort upgrades stretcher product

Sikorsky-owned LifePort, a US-based aviation equipment manufacturer, has announced a new upgrade to its AeroSled TS product.

The new design will be based on feedback from the operator community, said LifePort, and aims to increase the durability of medical stretchers used onboard civilian helicopters. The new AeroSled TS foot will help to reduce maintenance by replacing a cable system with a mechanical linkage; it has a lifecycle of 10,000 uses without degradation.

LifePort’s General Manager Noah Zuckerman said that the company prides itself on listening to customer feedback: “In the case of the AeroSled family of stretchers, we have taken a highly-reliable, time-tested product, and improved it based off of input from those who utilise it every day. Their feedback has been and will remain invaluable to our product development and improvement efforts – of which this upgrade is the first of many to come.”

LifePort added that the AeroSled family offers customers a variety of stretcher options depending on the operator’s needs. All in the range feature automatic locking and a single-hand release.
