Lockheed Martin delivers five more Black Hawks to the Philippines
The helicopters will join the Philippine Air Force’s existing fleet, and will be used for missions such as training and disaster response
Lockheed Martin has announced the delivery of five more Black Hawk helicopters to the Philippine Air Force (PAF).
The helicopters were delivered as part of the PAF’s efforts to modernize its defense capabilities.
The rotorcraft will join the Philippines’ existing Black Hawk fleet – Lockheed Martin previously confirmed that it delivered 10 aircraft to the Philippine government last year, as part of a framework contract for 32 signed in 2022.
The PAF utilizes Black Hawks for a range of mission types, including training and disaster relief.
The Air Force recently used its helicopters to support the response to Super Typhoon Ofel, also known as Typhoon Usagi, in November 2024, and to assist in putting out a wildfire in Tondo, Manila, in the same month.
“The Black Hawk helicopter’s versatility in disaster response, humanitarian aid, and infrastructure protection has been instrumental in amplifying national resilience and advancement,” said Bill Blair, Vice President and Regional Chief Executive, Asia and India, at Lockheed Martin. “We are committed to supporting the Philippine Air Force in their mission to protect and serve the Filipino people.”
