London Air Ambulance appoints new Chair
Bob Forsyth will replace previous incumbent Mark Vickers from April and will oversee the modernization and expansion of the charity’s air and ground fleets
London’s Air Ambulance Charity (LAAC) has announced the appointment of Bob Forsyth as the new Chair of its Board of Trustees.
Forsyth has been a trustee with LAAC since 2017. During his time on the board, he led the establishment of its Audit and Risk Committee, chairing it for over four years. He replaces previous Chair Mark Vickers, who retires by rotation on 31 March after seven years in the role.
Forsyth is a Senior Assurance Partner at Ernst & Young, where he has held a range of senior management roles, including as Co-Leader of the company’s Centre for Board Matters.
The appointment coincides with the continued modernization of LAAC’s fleets
Forsyth’s appointment comes as LAAC continues to implement its ongoing program of expansion and modernization, which includes:
- The replacement of its two helicopters
- The replacement and expansion of its rapid response car fleet
- Improvements to LAAC’s culture, diversity, and inclusion outreach.
LAAC says that Forsyth will ‘bring strong leadership, experience and organizational empathy to these fundamental priorities’.
Coinciding with Forsyth’s appointment, LAAC has announced that it also plans to recruit up to four new trustees for the Board.
“This is an exciting and transformational time for London's Air Ambulance Charity,” said Outgoing Chair of Trustees, Mark Vickers. “It has been a huge honor and privilege to be Chair of the Board, and in handing over these responsibilities to Bob I am inspired by the ambitious plans the Charity has for serving the people of London under his leadership.”
