Louisiana State Police orders two Bell 407GXis
The Louisiana State Police have placed an order with Bell Textron for the supply of two Bell 407GXi police helicopters
The Bell 407GXi is capable of cruise speeds of 246km/h, and features a Garmin G1000H NXi Flight Deck.
The helicopters will be used by the police department’s Air Support Unit to provide law enforcement support to all local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across the US state.
The two new helicopters will expand the unit’s fleet to seven aircraft. In addition to the two new 407GXis, the Louisiana State Police also operates two Bell 430s, a Bell 407GXP, a Bell 206L-IV Long Ranger, and a Bell 206B-III Jet Ranger. The entire fleet is configured for use with night vision goggles (NVG) and forward-looking infrared (FLIR) cameras.
Elsewhere in Louisiana, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) acquired a new DJI Mavic 3T drone in January of this year.
