Malaysia to acquire four more AW189s
The new rotorcraft will be delivered to the government between 2025 and 2026
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency will acquire four AW189s for use in long-range search and rescue (SAR) missions.
The aircraft will be supplied by Galaxy Aerospace Malaysia, and are scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2026.
They will join a fleet of three AW139s already in service with the government agency, which oversees law enforcement and SAR operations in Malaysian waters.
The announcement follows one in February made by the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) that it would also acquire two more AW139s to support its operations.
