Med-Trans announces new partnership
Med-Trans has announced a new partnership with the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).
Under the terms of the deal, Med-Trans will be providing medically configured aircraft, along with pilots and aircraft maintenance technicians, to work alongside the medical professionals at UMMC, to operate its AirCare helicopters.
UMMC is Mississippi's only academic medical center, and houses the only Level I trauma Center and Level IV neonatal intensive care unit. AirCare is the only provider in the state equipped to transport premature and ill newborns. Stephen Houck, director of the UMMC’s Mississippi Center for Emergency Services, stated: “Together, we will leverage each other’s experience and resources to continue to develop an amazing program. You will still see the same type aircraft, the same clinicians, and we will continue to develop our protocols to make them among the most advanced in the industry.”
