Robert Steen Kledal joins the Survival Technology solutions partner to lead the Executive team

Survitec – a global Survival Technology company working with the maritime, defence and government, aerospace and energy sectors – has announced the appointment of Robert Steen Kledal as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Kledal will be setting Survitec’s strategic direction, as well as leading the Executive team and sitting on the board.

A key focus for the new CEO is ensuring the 3,000-strong workforce feel connected to the company’s purpose, ‘We Exist to Protect Lives’.

Another part of the role is to continue the transformation work that Survitec began at the start of this year. The company launched a new organisational structure, with increased levels of customer centricity and agility as the focus.

Kledal has previous CEO experience at Wrist Ship Supply for nine years. He has also had other senior positions within the maritime and defence industries, with 21 years at Moeller-Maersk Group and serving as a Sergeant in the Danish Army. He will continue to sit on the Board of Directors at Wrist Ship Supply and Blue Water Shipping, a global provider of tailor-made transport and logistics solutions.

Kledal said: “Coming from the shipping industry, I was instantly attracted to the inspiring purpose of Survitec. I look forward to building on this great legacy and the achievements made to position Survitec as the global leader in Survival Technology for our customers worldwide. Not least to service our customers’ requirements effectively.”

This year, Survitec was awarded a UK Government Gold Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
