Aspen Colorado

Police in Aspen, in the US state of Colorado, have announced the launch of a new drone ‎program

Aspen Police Department stated that the drone program would be used to manage large ‎crowds, search for missing persons, and conduct aerial surveillance in hard-to-reach ‎areas.‎

The program currently employs two drones, an Anzu Robotics Raptor T worth ‎US$14,900, and a DJI Avata 2 worth $1,299, and is staffed by three pilots.‎

The Raptor T will be used to cover larger distances in outdoor areas, while the Avata 2 is ‎capable of being flown in tighter spaces, making it ideal for siege situations.‎

Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) in California recently announced a new ‎partnership with technology developer MatrixSpace to expand its drone-as-first-‎responder (DFR) program.‎
