The government of Ontario has approved CA$57 million of funding for new police helicopters

The funds will support the provision of two additional H135 helicopters to Windsor Police Service and the Niagara Regional Police Service.

The aircraft will be used to support patrols, security, and the management of key entry points at the US border.

The Airbus H135 has a maximum speed of 252km/h, with a maximum range of 633km, and a maximum endurance of 3hrs 36mins.

The investment follows a previous investment of CA$134 million announced last year, for the purchase of five helicopters in Ottawa and the Greater Toronto Area.
