The Flirtey Eagle drone promises AED delivery in less than 10 minutes

Flirtey, a drone delivery company based in Nevada, US, this month unveiled its latest innovation at The National Press Club in Washington, DC – the Flirtey Eagle drone; capable of delivering an automated external defibrillator (AED) within four minutes

Speaking at The National Press Club, Founder and CEO of Flirtey Matthew Sweeny explained that after partnering with NASA, the company was able to conduct the first FAA-approved drone delivery on American soil, delivering medication for the healthcare industry, and continues to develop in this area in order to provide a faster, more efficient service for those in need.

“Driven by our mission, drone delivery of defibrillators has the opportunity to increase the national survival rate of cardiac arrests up from 10 per cent today to over 47 per cent,” Sweeney said, going on to detail that Flirtey’s technology enables the goal of drone delivery in less than 10 minutes. The Flirtey Eagle drone also boasts reduced carbon emissions, reliable operability in 95 per cent of wind and weather conditions and an autonomous software programme that has FAA approval for one remote pilot to oversee 10 drones flying at the same time.

“We believe, at Flirtey, we’re driven by a very important mission: to save lives and improve lifestyles by making delivery instant for everyone,” Sweeny concluded.
