SAFE New Mexico

SAFE Structure Designs has delivered custom maintenance stands to the New Mexico State Police

The SAFETY FIRST ergonomic stands allow technicians safe access to all areas of their H145 aircraft. The stands are equipped with features such as a seamless fit to the aircraft with zero gaps, enhanced safety handrails, and exact working heights to increase comfort and efficiency. The stands are lightweight, easy to move around, and allow maintenance access to the aircraft on both a dolly and on the ground. The H145 stands provide a large work platform for added safety and are used for servicing the engines, transmission, and rotor head.

Increasing safety and efficiency

“SAFE exceeded our expectations in providing stands that would fit around all the accessories mounted to our aircraft. We have ‘everything’ installed on our aircraft, so the challenge was to get the stand to fit our unique requirements,” said Kurus Tenorio, New Mexico State Police. “SAFE even added handrails over the cockpit to provide the most secure working environment. In the past, we used ladders to reach components. It was uncomfortable and there was always a risk of falling. The new SAFE stands increase both safety and efficiency.”

“We are grateful for the opportunity to supply the New Mexico State Police with H145 custom maintenance stands,” added Johnny Buscema, SAFE CEO. “These stands are similar to the custom design we provided to Airbus Helicopters Training Center. We want our customers to always expect us to go the extra mile to provide the best customer service with the best custom support equipment for a wide range of helicopters and airplanes in both the civilian and military sector.”

Meanwhile, Helicopter services provider NHV Group has established a new maintenance training organization that will provide training and certification for aircraft technicians.
