New SAR birds for Egyptian Air Force
The Egyptian Air Force has taken delivery of a number of factory-new AW139 helicopters via its contract with US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Contracting Center for Foreign Military Sales.
The Egyptian Air Force has taken delivery of a number of factory-new AW139 helicopters via its contract with US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Contracting Center for Foreign Military Sales.
Jeffrey Young, director of the AMCOM Security Assistance Management Directorate at the recent delivery ceremony: “We’re fully aware of the team it takes to put these aircraft into the hands of our international partners.”
AgustaWestland produced the aircraft at its facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US, and configured the AW139s for the Egyptian Air Force’s search and rescue missions.
R. Scott Rettig, chief executive officer of AgustaWestland North America, commented: “We are confident that the AW139 will be an enormous asset for the Egyptian Air Force’s helicopter fleet.”
