NHS Supply Chain partners with Air Ambulances UK to support lifesaving missions

Air Ambulances UK (AAUK) has announced a new partnership with NHS Supply Chain, which will help raise funds and awareness for air ambulance charities across the UK.

Led by NHS Supply Chain’s community and charity champions, the partnership names AAUK as the organization’s main charity partner. Together, they aim to support the 21 air ambulance charities that collectively respond to more than 48,000 emergencies each year, delivering critical pre-hospital care across the country.

Each helicopter mission costs around £4,165 and is funded almost entirely by public donations. The two-year collaboration will see NHS Supply Chain staff raise funds through activities such as sponsored challenges, bake sales, and volunteering.

NHS Supply Chain Chief Executive Andrew New said: “We’re proud to partner with Air Ambulances UK for the next two years. This partnership shows our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. Together, we’ll fund vital equipment, training and innovation so air ambulance charities can keep delivering lifesaving care every day.”

Air Ambulances UK Interim CEO Lindsay Boswell added: “We are delighted that NHS Supply Chain has chosen Air Ambulances UK as its charity partner. The values that drive NHS Supply Chain’s work closely align with our mission to ensure everyone in need of lifesaving pre-hospital care has the best possible chance of survival and recovery.”

The partnership will help ensure air ambulance charities can continue to deliver rapid, hospital-level care to those in urgent need – often in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
