International helicopter transportation and related support services provider HNZ Group Inc. has announced the extension of the Emergency Health Services (EHS) LifeFlight air ambulance helicopters services contract with the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada. HNZ, operating under the brand Canadian Helicopters, said it will continue to support EHS through an amended agreement.
Under the deal, HNZ will supply two Sikorsky S-76C+ helicopters, an upgrade on the one Sikorsky 76A model that is currently being operated. Both will be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and will be fully configured for critical patient transfer. The new agreement will commence 1 August 2017, said HNZ, and will expire 31 March 2032.
“We are very pleased with the ongoing confidence that EHS has placed in the safety and quality of our services and operations,” said Don Wall, president and CEO of HNZ Group. “This amendment represents a renewed relationship with the Province of Nova Scotia that we have had since 1996. We look forward to continuing to support the people of Nova Scotia.”
