Panterra Heli Support announced that the company has acquired a newly repurposed Black Hawk helicopter modified for firefighting and utility work. Dallas Avionics has equipped the new tactical equipment that was installed at Ace Aeronautics, Guntersville, Alabama.
“This aircraft is available for purchase or possible lease,” said Vice President of Sales and Business Development Adrienne Robinson. “This aircraft is versatile and well suited for numerous specialty missions. All the equipment we ordered from Dallas Avionics was designed to give an operator or owner the most advanced communications equipment available on the market.”
The new aircraft’s avionics and communications package comes equipped with dual TDFM-136B VHF/FM transceivers from Technisonic; and three JA95 audio controllers, JA40 Intercom Tie Line Isolation Transformer, JA31 Intercom Bus Selector, JA34 Universal Radio Adapter with Bluetooth, JA72 Glove Box with dual charging ports, and multiple JA74 USB-C ports from Jupiter Avionics. It has Flightcell DZMx satcom and USFS tracking with Wi-Fi, Fire, and Loadcell apps, and also has Flightcell SmartHUB and cockpit camera system. There is also an AEM LSS440 PA system.
“We were thrilled to work with Panterra Heli Support to equip this aircraft with the latest communication equipment,” said Dallas Avionics’ Scott Edwards. “We work hard to make sure we have the best equipment available and to be a single-source supplier. It was great to be able to work with Adrienne and her team to help them with all their needs on this unique aircraft.”
In addition to the navigation and communication equipment, the retrofitted Black Hawk also has a new RMCI XRDS health and usage monitoring system; exhaust assemblies from Aerometals; new LED lights; a MaxPulse light; fuel reclamation kit; vertical reference kit; locking fuel cap; Bambi Bucket fill connection; cargo hook with weigh system; and provisions for Helitak firefighting equipment.
“Working with Rich Enderle and the team at Ace Aeronautics, we were able to equip this aircraft to give our customers the most versatile, advanced aircraft possible,” said Robinson. “Whether they will be fighting fires, performing utility work or performing another special mission, this aircraft is ready. It is great to see such an amazing helicopter gain new life for civilian operations.”
