Papua New Guinea acquires two police helicopters
The two Bell 412s were gifted to the Pacific island nation by the government of Australia, via the Australian Federal Police
The Australian Federal Police has gifted two Bell 412 helicopters to the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC).
The two rotorcraft will be used by the RPNGC to strengthen its operational capabilities and improve police mobility across Papua New Guinea.
The aircraft are expected to be especially useful in navigating remote and rural areas where road access is limited.
Alongside law enforcement, the Bell 412s will be used for a range of other government and emergency response operations, including disaster response, rapid response, and supporting the delivery of the country’s 2027 national elections.
Australia’s Queensland Police Service (QPS) has announced the launch of two new Bell 429 police helicopters into full service from its base in the city of Townsville.
