ParaZero receives order for 50 drone safety systems
The drone technology firm will adapt its parachute-based solution for medical logistics and military applications through a new partnership
Aerospace firm ParaZero Technologies says it has received an order for 50 drone safety systems, for use in military and medical operations, from an unspecified “Tier 1 leading defense original equipment manufacturer (OEM)”.
The deal is part of a partnership between the two companies to adapt ParaZero’s parachute-based drone safety system for medical field missions and other military operations, particularly in critical and remote areas. It is the first phase of a larger collaboration.
Following the initial delivery, the systems will be tested and validated, with necessary adaptations made to account for the drones’ medical delivery systems.
If successful, the customer then plans to purchase “hundreds” of additional systems for use in a pilot program, with both stages scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.
The ultimate goal is for the systems to enter commercial production for operational use, providing a scalable safety system for both civilian medical and military drone programs.
The African country of Eswatini launched a medical logistics drone network in June this year.
