PHI MRO Services, part of PHI Aviation, has secured a contract to complete a Bell OH-58 Kiowa police helicopter on behalf of DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office (DPSO) in the US state of Louisiana.
Work on the helicopter is due to be finished by the end of the year, and will include a range of interior and exterior modifications, including the installation of mission-specific equipment and avionics.
This will include the installation of a Garmin GTN 650Xi touchscreen flight navigator, a Macro-Blue 15.6in TFO cockpit display, a Trakka mapping system and Aero Dynamix night vision goggles compatible panels and systems.
“The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office is committed to making critical investments to help enhance our ability to protect and serve the public,” said Jayson Richardson, Sheriff of DPSO. “We’re pleased to partner with PHI MRO Services to equip our Air Division’s OH-58 aircraft with state-of-the-art technology.”
PHI MRO Services signed a strategic supplier agreement with Leonardo in October last year.
