Poland looking to acquire 22 AW101s
The Polish government is looking to purchase a fleet of 22 Leonardo multi-role AW101s for use by its country’s military
The plans were outlined by Brigadier General Ireneusz Nowak at a conference on 29 May organized by Polish publication Defence24; however, no contract has yet been signed.
Deliveries of the aircraft would run between 2025 and 2031. Leonardo is currently delivering a fleet of four AW101s intended for use by the Polish Navy under a contract signed in 2019. Deliveries of this batch are due for completion this year.
Elsewhere, the Polish National Police (PNP) recently signed a purchase agreement with Bell Textron for the supply of four 407GXi rotorcraft.
