MD 530 F

MD Helicopters will display Oxford Police’s law enforcement MD 530F during the Airborne Public Safety Association’s (APSA) annual convention and expo (APSCON) between 26 and 31 July in New Orleans, US

Additionally, MD Helicopters (MDHI) will offer demonstration flights in its glass cockpit MD530F demo aircraft. Based in Oxford, Alabama, the Oxford Police Aviation Support Unit’s primary mission is supporting ground officers and its Emergency Services Unit with its two well equipped helicopters.

The aviation unit also has mutual aid agreements for airborne law enforcement services with several agencies throughout central and eastern Alabama. In addition, the unit supports the FBI and other state and federal task forces, providing surveillance for ongoing investigations.

Enhanced safety during night-time patrol

Throughout the show, MDHI will offer the opportunity for attendees to experience the glass cockpit MD 530F first-hand. The updated helicopter incorporates a NVIS cockpit designed to enhance safety during night-time patrol, surveillance, and tactical operations. The glass cockpit features the Garmin G500 TXi Electronic Flight Instruments, Howell Instruments Electronic Engine Instruments and Crew Alert Systems and Garmin GTN 750 Touchscreen NAV/COM/GPS.

AirMed&Rescue looks at how law enforcement teams adapt their aircraft fleet and skills to ensure response readiness when facing the diversity of search and rescue missions.
