RACQ LifeFlight Rescue announces rebrand
Queensland’s RACQ LifeFlight Rescue has announced the end of its naming rights sponsorship with the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ)
From 30 June, the service will be known simply as LifeFlight Rescue. The decision to end the 30-year partnership between the two organizations comes after the state government of Queensland confirmed that LifeFlight Rescue would receive an additional A$586.1 million in 10-year funding.
“We are incredibly grateful to RACQ for its unwavering support and a shared commitment to save lives,” said Ashley van de Velde, CEO of LifeFlight Rescue’s parent organization, LifeFlight Australia.
“While it’s the end of an era as our naming rights sponsor, we are continuing to explore new partnership opportunities with RACQ which could see continued investment and support for Queensland communities,” he added.
LifeFlight Australia also placed an order for three more AW139 helicopters with manufacturer Leonardo in February.
