Rescue helicopter called out twice to Herbertville Beach
Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Herbertville Beach first to the scene of a motorike accident.
In New Zealand, the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Herbertville Beach at midday on 4 November to the scene of a motorbike accident. The service said a 29-year-old male had suffered multiple injuries after crashing his motorbike while trying to avoid an obstacle. The patient was stablised at the scene before being airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital for treatment.
The rescue helicopter was dispatched to Herbertville Beach again around 12:15 hrs, this time for a man in his 40s who had hit a drain on his motorbike while riding alongside the beach. The man had suffered multiple injuries and was transported to Palmerston North Hospital for further care.
