Russian Helicopters to attend Dubai Airshow
Russian Helicopters has announced that it is showcasing a range of new helicopter configurations at the Dubai Airshow on 13–17 November
This includes the first overseas presentation of the Kamov Ka-32A11M, a configuration of the Ka-32 that is designed specifically for aerial firefighting and rescue. The configuration features the SP-32 firefighting system, which can be filled with ‘four tonnes of water’ in ‘under a minute’, according to the company. The system also features a water cannon, which can be used to fight fires in ‘urban high rises’.
The company also said that it is displaying an emergency medical configuration for the Ansat utility helicopter, which includes enough space for a patient and two paramedics in the main cabin.
The airshow also sees the unveiling of Russian Helicopters’ BAS-200 drone system, which it states can be used for a range of mission types, including the ‘transportation of goods [and] search and rescue operations’. The drone can reportedly carry a ‘maximum payload of 50kg’, up to a range of 100km. It is capable of flying with a payload for up to four hours.
Russian Helicopters’ parent company Rostec delivered 18 helicopters to the Zimbabwean government earlier this year.
