SAF merger

SAF Aerogroup owned helicopter training centers SAF Training Academy and Azur Helicoptère have merged to create X-Aero Training Academy

Ten years after the creation of SAF Training Academy and three years after the acquisition of Azur Helicoptère by the SAF Group – which became SAF Aerogroup following the acquisition of Starlite Aviation – the two training centers have merged to reunite expertise, simplify the commercial offer, and provide a simpler contact point for customers and partners.

A transition period has been launched to ensure the regulatory continuity of teaching.

The unification process is currently undergoing Training Organization (ATO) approvals by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and regulatory validation is underway with the authority to soon deliver under the same certificate all the training courses currently supported by SAF Training Academy and Azur Hélicoptère.

Following the unification, the academy will cover almost all the single pilot training courses for the following aircraft: R22, R44, Cabri G2, AS350/EC130, AS355, EC/H135, EC/H145, and AW 109.
