Safran awarded DRF Luftrettung maintenance contract
German air ambulance service DRF Luftrettung has given a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract to Safran Helicopter Engines
The contract covers the provision of in-service support and MRO for the over 90 Arriel 2E engines that power DRF Luftrettung’s Airbus H145 helicopter fleet.
Safran Helicopter Engines Germany – based in Hamburg – will oversee the delivery of the contract.
“We have been using Safran Helicopter Engines in our fleet for many years now and they have become an indispensable part of our lifesaving missions,” said Roman Morka, Chief Technology Officer at DRF Luftrettung. “It is crucial for us to work with partners who we can rely on in all circumstances. Therefore we are very happy that in the future we will continue to profit from Safran Helicopter Engines’ experience and reliable services.”
Safran and DRF Luftrettung previously worked together, alongside Airbus Helicopters, to investigate the effects of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on the Airbus H135.
