Skyalta ready to transport Covid-19 and other infectious disease patients
Canadian aeromedical service Skyalta is now able to transport Covid-19 and other infectious disease patients onboard their fleet of Learjet 45 XR
Skyalta spent time researching effective methods of transporting highly infectious patients and training its medical crew members in the proper use of the acquired units. This way, the company hopes there will be no delays in launching when time is of the essence to get a patient either back home or to definitive care anywhere in the world. Skyalta’s medical directors will be there to consult the crew if needed.
In a statement, the aeromedical service said: “As contagious disease management and transport becomes an increasingly significant part of our industry, we have opted to make isolation units part of our standard medical equipment and have equipped each of our aircraft with its own unit.
“Moreover, we are pleased to offer this option at no additional cost. We are excited to be offering this service, which allows us to continue our mission to deliver the Art of Critical Air Medicine anywhere and anytime it is needed.”
