Skyco Leasing orders six H175s
Airbus Helicopters has received an order for six H175 helicopters from Skyco International Financial Leasing Co
Skyco Leasing, an aviation firm owned by the provincial government of Guangdong, China, will use the new fleet of six rotorcraft to conduct a range of public service missions. This will include search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services, and disaster relief.
The Airbus H175 has a cruise speed of 267km/h, with a maximum range of 1,160km, and an endurance of 6hrs 9mins. It can carry up to 18 passengers in standard configuration, and can carry an external payload of up to 2,700kg.
Joint development in Guangdong
As part of the deal, Airbus has also agreed to expand its presence in Guangdong and the Greater Bay Area through its collaboration with Skyco.
This will include the “joint development of support and services activities” and an “industrial cooperation set-up” designed to “lay a solid foundation for the development of general aviation”.
“This cooperation goes far beyond the purchase of helicopters,” said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. “It is an unmistakable sign of Guangdong Province’s willingness to lead the development of the helicopter market in the southern region of China.”
Bucher Leichtbau also announced a collaboration with China Aviation Rescue and Emergency (CARE) “to advance air rescue capabilities in China” in December of last year.
